Work accident compensation calculator developed

Axis Interactive have recently completed a project with the team at Quittance Personal Injury.

Quittance are the UK’s leading personal injury solicitor network.  The company offers legal assistance to people who have been injured through no fault of their own.

The company has a large work injury claims department that interacts with thousands of claimants every year.

One of the questions asked by a large number of their clients is “How much compensation is likely to be awarded for a specific work injury?”.  To answer this question it is necessary to orientate the client with a series of branched logic questions to produce an injury profile.  This profile can then be used to build a query that can be directed at a large data set compiled by the Judicial College.

Once built the solution needed to be deployable online at the company’s work accident site.

Axis scoped out an initial brief with Quittance which led to the refinement of a legal process map.

This was refined into a conditional logic process map and then coded as a back end web service.

We then designed a multi-page form that mirrored the logic and skinned the form to be as intuitive as possible to use.

A test platform was also built to enable fine tuning of the process to ensure that it was getting clients to the answers they needed.

Following implementation Quittance have confirmed a near 300% increase in the number of clients injured at work completing the form.

Chris Salmon, Operation’s Director of Quittance said “Working with Axis has been a breath of fresh air.  Axis are able to communicate in both technical and non-technical languages.  As a result they helped us organise our thoughts into a clear brief which was then executed on time and on budget.

The results of the project are the real story however.  The work injury calculator has noticeably increased engagement from prospective work injury claimants meaning we are already seeing a quantifiable return.”
